Our BSc Real Estate with Foundation degree gives you an understanding of the breadth and depth of the property sector and allows you to make specialist choices later in the course.
This four-year programme includes a foundation year that leads directly into the three-year BSc Real Estate course.
Foundation year
The foundation year will provide you with the skills and knowledge to succeed at university.
A foundation year is more than just a stepping-stone to a degree. You will also benefit from:

- experience of an academic environment, and the ability to work independently
- specialist support and guidance.
BSc Real Estate
Once you have completed your foundation year, you’ll progress to our BSc Real Estate programme, which will support you to:
- build a strong understanding of the core subject areas of economics, finance, business management, planning, building, law and valuation
- apply your learning to complex real-world problems.
Foundation Year
You’ll develop core skills in academic study, writing and research, statistics and data science, and business and management theory.
Your learning will be delivered through a combination of:
- lectures
- tutorials
- practical classes
- workshops.
BSc Real Estate
After your foundation year, the first two years of this course are designed to introduce and develop core concepts and practical skills in Real Estate and Planning. Students on all Real Estate and Planning courses are enrolled on the same compulsory modules in the first and second years.
In your second year, you’ll be able to select one optional module.
In your third year, you’ll develop a deeper understanding in a specialist area, such as development and planning, investment or valuation. You can also tailor your degree by choosing from a range of elective modules including housing or rural options.
