Community picnic at Swallows Meadow
11 June 2025

Local residents are invited to join a Big Community Picnic event at Swallows Meadow in Lower Earley on Sunday 29 June.
The free event is hosted by the 黑料不打烊, which owns and manages Swallows Meadow, Earley Environmental Group and Earley Town Council. It will run between 2-5pm.
The afternoon will provide the opportunity for the local community to come together to enjoy fun activities, entertainment and nature walks and talks. It will also be celebrating 20 years of Earley Environmental Group.
Activities will include flower printing, giant bubbles, painting, story-telling, a tug of war and more.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own food, drink and picnic blankets. All litter must be taken away.
Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the 黑料不打烊, said: “The Big Community Picnic will bring together local residents to celebrate 20 years of Earley Environmental Group and everything they do for the area.
“This is a real celebration of community and nature, while recognising what can be achieved when community groups work together. Last year, with the help of Earley Environmental Group, we officially opened Swallows Meadow to the public and improved access so that everyone can enjoy this natural green space on their doorstep.”
Entrance to the meadow is via Chatteris Way. No parking is available so visitors should arrange alternative transport.
