Influence of the Pavement Solar Collector System on the Urban Environment.Background
Dr Xu is a Lecturer in Built Environment and Physical Sciences. Her research focuses on sustainable building technology, with particular expertise in urban heat island mitigation, building energy performance, and the integration of innovative thermal-energy systems such as pavement solar collectors. She has extensive teaching experience across Architectural Engineering Design and Environmental Performance Modelling, supporting students in building simulation, retrofit design, BIM tools, and sustainable environmental design. Alongside her research and teaching, she holds BREEAM AP and BREEAM International New Construction Assessor qualifications, enabling her to provide applied expertise in environmental assessment and sustainable design practice.
