As Chief Financial Officer, Vin Wijeratne is a member of the University Executive Board and is responsible for all aspects of the financial management and planning for the University.

As Chief Financial Officer, Vin Wijeratne is a member of the University Executive Board and is responsible for all aspects of the financial management and planning for the University.
Vin graduated from University College Cardiff with a degree in Chemistry and has since held a number of Executive and Board roles across multiple sectors within listed companies, public sector, charity and private equity owned organisations.
His career includes executive leadership roles at globally recognised organisations such as Compaq, Orange, EE and The Royal Mint and he has been a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of an AIM listed company.
Vin was Commercial Finance Director for the £3.3 billion turnover Consumer Division at Orange and subsequently appointed Strategic Planning Director, playing a key role in the creation of EE. As CFO of The Royal Mint, he helped lead an operational transformation programme that embedded lean manufacturing principles and greater commercial expertise, resulting in sustained revenue and profit growth.
Vin also has prior Higher Education sector experience, having formerly been the Interim Chief Operating Officer at the University of South Wales.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
