Areas of interest

My main area of interest is in the field of corpus linguistics. I am currently investigating the impact of Study Abroad programmes on the language skills of translation students. Additionally, I'm studying the way in which Short Study Abroad experiences affect the psycho-affective factors involved in foreign language learning, all framed by a decolonizing and intercultural approach examined through mixed research methods. Secondary lines of research include  language of instruction, second language acquisition, and learning contexts.

Teaching

I convene and teach:

  • Advanced Spanish I (SP1L3, SP2L3, SP3L3)
  • IWLP Spanish 3 (LA1PS3).

I also co-teach:

  • Beginners Spanish Language (SP1L1).

Research centres and groups

I am a member of the research group “Communicative and Intercultural Skills in Foreign Language” (University of Valladolid) and a collaborator of the research project “PaGeS 2.0. Optimization of a Multifunctional Resource for Language Learning, Translation and Linguistic-Contrastive Research” (University of Santiago de Compostela).

  • BA (Hons) Translation and Interpreting (Spanish, English). University of Alicante (Spain)
  • MA in Teaching Spanish and English as Second/Foreign Languages. University of Alicante (Spain)
  • Sworn Translator and Interpreter of Spanish and English. Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (Spain)
