Amsale is part of the PICSA project and responsible for analysing climate data as well as the evaluation and survey data.
Background
Amsale is an experienced climate scientist and researcher with a solid background in utilizing statistical and computational tools, including Python, R, SPSS, and specialized software like R-Instat. Her work encompasses climate data analysis, model calibration, and numerical experiments focused on climate change projections, drought characterization, and ecological interactions across various regions, including East Africa, South America, and Southern Africa. As part of the PICSA project, Amsale creates tailored data visualizations, streamlining data analysis workflows and contributing to impactful research that supports meteorological services and agricultural communities in developing countries.
In addition to her research expertise, Amsale has significant experience in training and mentoring. She has developed course materials, managed online learning platforms, and provided hands-on training for meteorological professionals. Her background also includes academic tutoring in advanced mathematical and computational topics, guiding students through complex problem-solving and research projects. This combination of technical proficiency, research impact, and educational engagement fuels her passion for contributing to interdisciplinary climate science and data-driven environmental decision-making.
